Texas Cheese Fries with Bacon (Printer-Friendly)

Golden fries topped with melted cheese, bacon, jalapeños, and green onion—an irresistible snack or party favorite.

# What You’ll Need to Cook:

→ Fries Base

01 - 800 g frozen steak fries

→ Seasoning

02 - 1 teaspoon seasoned salt

→ Cheese Blend

03 - 100 g sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
04 - 100 g Monterey Jack cheese, shredded

→ Toppings

05 - 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
06 - 2 green onions, thinly sliced
07 - 1 jalapeño, thinly sliced (optional or substitute with pickled jalapeños)
08 - 120 g sour cream (for serving, optional)

# Steps to Prepare:

01 - Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper to facilitate cleanup.
02 - Spread frozen steak fries evenly in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with seasoned salt and toss to coat.
03 - Bake fries in a preheated oven at 220°C for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp, turning halfway through for even cooking.
04 - Remove hot fries from the oven. Immediately sprinkle with shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, distributing evenly.
05 - Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for 3–4 minutes, or until cheese has fully melted.
06 - Top the cheesy fries with crumbled bacon, sliced green onions, and jalapeño slices.
07 - Serve immediately with sour cream drizzled or on the side for dipping.

# Extra Cooking Tips:

01 - For milder heat, use pickled jalapeños instead of fresh. Add toppings such as grilled chicken or pulled pork if desired.
02 - Serve fries promptly for optimal crispness. Leftovers can be stored airtight and reheated at 200°C for 10 minutes.
