Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and diced onion, cooking until the meat is browned and the onion is softened, about 6–8 minutes. Break the meat apart with a spatula as it cooks.

Stir in taco seasoning and beef broth. Mix thoroughly and simmer uncovered for 4–5 minutes, allowing the mixture to thicken slightly. Remove from heat.

Place refried beans in a microwave-safe bowl and heat until hot. Wrap the flour tortillas in a damp paper towel and microwave for 30–40 seconds until soft and pliable.

Spread a generous layer of refried beans onto each warm tortilla. Top with a portion of the beef mixture. Roll up each tortilla to fully enclose the filling.

Place rolled tortillas seam-side down on a plate. Pour hot sauce over the top and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. For melted cheese, place under a hot grill for 30 seconds if desired. Serve immediately.
