Flaky puff pastry hearts filled with creamy strawberry cream cheese and fresh berries, dusted with sugar.

# Required Ingredients:

→ Pastry

01 - 1 sheet (245 g) puff pastry
02 - 1 large egg
03 - 15 ml water

→ Filling

04 - 85 g strawberry cream cheese
05 - 30 ml strawberry jam
06 - 1 drop pink food coloring
07 - 100 g diced fresh strawberries

→ Topping

08 - Sparkling sugar
09 - Powdered sugar for dusting

# Step-by-Step Instructions:

01 - Set the oven to 200°C (400°F) and allow the puff pastry to thaw completely if frozen.
02 - In a mixing bowl, combine strawberry cream cheese, strawberry jam, and pink food coloring. Mix until smooth and creamy.
03 - Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Use a 7.5 cm heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out hearts, then gently score a smaller heart about 0.8 cm from the edge on each piece.
04 - Spread the cream cheese mixture inside the scored area of each pastry and top with diced strawberries in the center.
05 - Brush the edges of each pastry with a mixture of beaten egg and water. Sprinkle sparkling sugar along the brushed edges.
06 - Place pastries on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 14 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
07 - Allow pastries to cool on a wire rack, then dust lightly with powdered sugar before serving.

# Handy Cooking Tips:

01 - Keep puff pastry cold before cutting to ensure flakiness. Chill assembled pastries for 10–15 minutes prior to baking for better rise.
