Preheat oven as instructed on the chocolate cake mix package. Combine the cake mix with eggs, oil, and water as specified, mixing until smooth.

Divide the batter evenly among 12 lined cupcake cups and bake according to package directions. Remove from oven when a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean. Allow cupcakes to cool completely on a wire rack.

Once cooled, spread a thin layer of white frosting over the surface of each cupcake using a small offset spatula.

Press two candy eyes gently onto the top of each frosted cupcake.

Fill a piping bag fitted with a flat tip with the remaining white frosting. Pipe horizontal and diagonal lines over each cupcake to resemble mummy bandages, leaving the eyes visible.

Present the decorated cupcakes on a serving tray and enjoy.
