01 -
In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, onion powder, salt, and ground black pepper. Add the chicken pieces and thoroughly toss to coat each piece with the mixture.
02 -
Melt the butter with oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium heat. Arrange the coated chicken pieces in a single layer, spacing them out evenly. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until both sides are golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
03 -
Reduce heat to low. Add the remaining butter to the same skillet and melt it gently. Stir in honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, salt, and ground black pepper. Continue stirring over low heat until the sauce thickens to a caramel-like consistency.
04 -
Return the fried chicken pieces to the skillet, tossing them in the honey butter sauce until they are evenly coated.
05 -
Turn off the heat and allow the chicken to rest in the sauce for 5 minutes. Transfer to a serving platter. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve accompanied by white rice and sautéed green beans.
