In a small mixing bowl, whisk together sesame oil, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, mirin, and minced garlic. Set the sauce aside.

Heat a wok or large sauté pan over medium-high heat. Melt butter, add sliced onions, and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until aromatic.

Add shrimp and finely diced garlic to the pan. Pour in the prepared hibachi sauce, stirring to evenly coat the shrimp. Arrange shrimp in a single layer and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.

Turn the shrimp and continue to cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, or until shrimp are opaque and the sauce is reduced by half.

Transfer cooked shrimp and onions to serving plates. Enjoy immediately, ideally over steamed or fried rice and with yum yum sauce if desired.
