Flip the bread slices and spread a generous layer of peanut butter on the un-mayed side, covering to the edges.

Arrange banana slices in a single layer over the peanut butter on two of the bread slices, pressing gently so they adhere.

Place a remaining slice of bread, peanut butter side down, on top of each banana-covered slice. The mayonnaise sides should face out.

Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium-high. Lay sandwiches mayonnaise side down in the pan and grill for about 2 minutes, until bread turns golden and crisp.

Carefully flip each sandwich and continue grilling another 2 minutes, until both sides are golden and the peanut butter begins to melt.
