01 - 225 g spicy Italian sausage, casing removed
02 - 50 g cupping pepperoni, sliced

03 - 120 g shredded mozzarella cheese
04 - 100 g fresh mozzarella cheese, torn into pieces
05 - 60 g ricotta cheese
06 - 30 g grated Parmesan cheese

07 - 450 g good-quality marinara sauce

08 - 1 teaspoon dried oregano
09 - Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

10 - Breadsticks, garlic bread, or pita chips

# Step-by-Step Instructions:

01 - Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until browned and no longer pink, about 6-7 minutes.
02 - Reduce the heat to low and pour in the marinara sauce. Stir to combine and simmer for 5 minutes allowing flavors to meld.
03 - Add dollops of ricotta cheese over the sausage mixture. Sprinkle half of the pepperoni evenly, then top with shredded mozzarella and 20 g grated Parmesan. Distribute fresh mozzarella pieces and the remaining pepperoni on top. Sprinkle with dried oregano and a pinch of the remaining Parmesan.
04 - Transfer the skillet to a preheated oven at 200°C and bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
05 - Increase oven to broil on high and broil for 3-5 minutes until the top is golden brown and all layers are bubbling.
06 - Remove from oven and allow to cool for 3 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve warm with breadsticks or garlic bread on the side.
