# Steps to Prepare:

- Heat olive oil or lard in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced yellow onions and minced garlic. Sauté for 5 minutes until onions are soft and translucent.
- Stir in garlic powder, dried oregano, chili flakes, 1 teaspoon salt, ground black pepper, and smoked paprika. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Add tomato paste and stir well. Add ground beef and pork, breaking up meat as it cooks. Sauté until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Pour in tomato sauce, heavy cream, chicken broth, and water. Stir thoroughly to combine with the meat and spices. Add 1 teaspoon sugar and remaining salt to balance acidity.
- Once soup begins to simmer, add broken lasagna sheets. Cook uncovered for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
- Remove pot from heat. Stir in shredded mozzarella until melted. Optionally, add chopped parsley and mix well.
- Ladle soup into bowls. Top each serving with a dollop of ricotta cheese and fresh basil if desired. Serve hot.
