Preheat the oven to 220°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced or roasted garlic, shredded Parmesan, and chopped parsley. Mix thoroughly with a spatula until well incorporated.

Slice the French loaf in half lengthwise. Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over each half. If desired, sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly on top.

Transfer prepared bread to the lined baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until edges are golden brown. For extra color, broil for an additional 2 minutes if desired.

Remove from the oven and allow bread to cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve warm.
