→ Protein

07 - 500 grams boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs

→ Vegetables

08 - 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced into strips
09 - 1 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
10 - 1-2 jalapeño peppers, deseeded and sliced (optional)
11 - 1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
12 - 200 grams romaine lettuce, chopped
13 - 1 ripe avocado, sliced

→ Garnishes & Toppings

14 - 15 grams fresh cilantro, chopped
15 - 60 grams sour cream (optional)
16 - 1 fresh lime, cut into wedges
17 - Chili flakes, to taste (optional)

# Steps to Prepare:

01 - In a small bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, smoked paprika, cumin, and salt. Mix thoroughly until well blended.
02 - Place chicken breasts or thighs in a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, coating evenly. Allow to marinate for at least 10 minutes, or refrigerate up to 24 hours for enhanced flavor.
03 - Preheat air fryer to 182°C. Arrange marinated chicken pieces in the basket, ensuring they do not overlap. Cook for 10 minutes, then flip chicken. Add sliced bell peppers, jalapeños, and onions around the chicken. Continue air frying for an additional 7-12 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 74°C and vegetables are tender yet crisp.
04 - Transfer cooked chicken onto a cutting board. Let rest for 10 minutes to retain juices. Slice chicken into thin strips.
05 - In a large serving bowl, layer chopped romaine lettuce and cilantro. Arrange air-fried vegetables and avocado slices on top. Place sliced chicken over the salad base.
06 - Dollop sour cream in the center. Sprinkle with chili flakes if desired. Squeeze fresh lime wedges over the salad and serve immediately.

# Extra Cooking Tips:

01 - Always let the cooked chicken rest before slicing to ensure maximum juiciness and tenderness.
02 - For best results, avoid overcrowding the air fryer to promote even cooking and caramelisation.
03 - Prepare salad components separately for easy meal prep throughout the week.
04 - Chicken may be substituted with beef strips for variety.
