Upside-Down Brie Bites (Printer-Friendly Version)

Flaky pastry envelops nutty brie with honey and fresh chives for a delicious bite-sized treat.

# Required Ingredients:

→ Cheese

01 - 8 mini brie rounds

→ Pastry

02 - 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

→ Sweeteners

03 - 60 ml honey, divided, plus extra for drizzling

→ Egg Wash

04 - 1 large egg, beaten

→ Garnish

05 - finely chopped fresh chives

# Step-by-Step Instructions:

01 - Roll out the thawed puff pastry to 1.5 times its original size. Using a 9 cm circular cutter, cut 8 rounds.
02 - Place parchment paper on a baking sheet. Dot 8 half-tablespoons of honey onto the parchment. Score the surface of each brie round and place each on a honey dollop. Wrap the puff pastry rounds over the brie tightly.
03 - Pinch the edges of the pastry with a fork to prevent puffing during baking.
04 - Brush each assembled bite with beaten egg. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
05 - Transfer baked bites to a serving platter, sprinkle with finely chopped fresh chives, and drizzle with additional honey.

# Handy Cooking Tips:

01 - Ensure the puff pastry is thoroughly thawed before rolling to prevent cracking.
