02 - 450 grams lean ground beef
03 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
04 - 900-1100 millilitres spaghetti sauce

→ Creamy Coating

05 - 225 grams cream cheese, softened
06 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
07 - 0.5 teaspoon dried basil

→ Cheese Topping

08 - 60 grams shredded Parmesan cheese
09 - 115 grams shredded mozzarella cheese

# Step-by-Step Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 175°C. Coat a 23x33 cm baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
02 - In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef and garlic until beef is browned and no longer pink. Drain excess fat. Stir in spaghetti sauce and remove from heat.
03 - In a large pot of boiling water, cook spaghetti noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well.
04 - Return drained spaghetti to the pot. Add cream cheese, Italian seasoning, and dried basil. Stir until the cream cheese has fully melted and noodles are coated.
05 - Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of the prepared dish. Distribute the cream cheese-coated spaghetti evenly over the sauce. Top with remaining meat sauce. Sprinkle Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses evenly over the surface.
06 - Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes or until the surface is hot and bubbly.
07 - Allow the casserole to stand for 10 minutes after baking. Cut into portions and serve.

# Handy Cooking Tips:

01 - For extra sauciness, use 1.5 jars of spaghetti sauce. This dish reheats well and can be prepared ahead.
02 - You may halve all ingredients and bake in a 20x20 cm square dish to yield a smaller batch.
